Where can you reduce clutter in your life?
Long-time penguin aficionados will know that I’m a very avid Magic: The Gathering fan with a collection that’s followed me around from place to place for the better part of a decade. And let me tell you, moving around that much cardboard really sucks.
A single Magic deck or bundle doesn’t weigh that much but over time I think the amount of cards I have has started to outweigh my books so I’ve started the process of slimming down what I keep around. And it isn’t just my cardboard, I’ve been trying to reduce a lot of my personal effects especially things I have kept but never actually used myself. I have the bad tendency to over-consume and impulse purchase things (that I admittedly do want to use there’s just a block that prevents me from getting there) so local Buy Nothing groups have been helpful in rehoming a lot of my items.
One part of my life that still needs desperate help on the decluttering side is all my digital assets. I have really become disorganized with files and media scattered in too many places and I often think I don’t have something only to realize (much later) that I already do. Doesn’t help much that GOG and Epic also keep handing out free titles (same itch.io) so sometimes just looking at my games library is enough to inspire anxiety.
How do you keep track of your games? Or your Magic cards? I’m trying to find a solution that isn’t just “Spreadsheet” but it is looking like I got a look of those coming my way in the near future.

What a cute kitten!
I enjoy MTG but I’ve always been more partial to Pokemon TCG. I have quite a few decks, enough to weigh down a reusable shopping bag with. By the sound of it, your collection of MTG puts my PTCG collection to shame though! Do you still play often?

I still play fairly regularly! Though probably not as much as I want to be playing. Pokemon is something I collected forever ago, but now I feels like trying to catch up would take forever.

It’s not too bad. The gameplay is the same, and every couple of years they release a new series which makes the old series non-competitive. You’d be able to start up fairly easily I imagine. 🙂
